Transportation Committee Plans Annual Transportation Forum
WINCHESTER, VA: The Frederick County Transportation Committee is planning to hold the Fifth Transportation Forum on Monday, October 28, 2019.
The format for the forum will be slightly different than in past years. There will be no formal question and answer session; instead citizens will be able to engage one-on-one with elected officials and transportation staff from various agencies. “We want to provide information about transportation projects in Frederick County and the potential impact those projects may have on people’s day-to-day activities and the forum gives citizens an opportunity to talk to people at the state level regarding road projects,” according to Mike Ruddy, Director, Planning and Development.
Presentations will include a session with VDOT regarding I-81 improvements and funding and John Bishop, Assistant Planning Director, Transportation, will present a brief presentation at the beginning of the meeting regarding Frederick County Transportation Projects and Procedures. “I want to let people know where we are on some large transportation projects and introduce them to a new web page we have to keep folks up to date.”
The forum will take place this year at the County Administration building at 107 N. Kent Street, Winchester. Please address questions or the need for special accommodations to the Planning Department, 540-665-5651. Doors open at 6 p.m.; presentation from Frederick County Transportation Staff at approximately 6:30 p.m.; gallery opens at 7 p.m. for conversations with elected local and state officials, staff, and representatives from various agencies.
