Explorers Post 154 provides hands-on-training and mentorship for young men and women interested in volunteer and career opportunities in firefighting and emergency medical services. Through the comprehensive training, Explorers will learn leadership skills, service to the community, accountability, chain of command, use of personal protective equipment, radio communications, hose drills, fire suppression, throwing ladders, ropes & knots, search & rescue, first aid, CPR, and more.
Bi-monthly meetings will begin in September and run through June on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 6:30p.m. - 8:30p.m. Additional community events will include, but are not limited to, the following: National Night Out and Basic Fire & EMS Academy Graduation.
Registration is open to Frederick County residents between the ages of 14 – 18 years old in grades 9- 12. Explorers are expected to have and maintain a minimum of 2.0 GPA\ 70% \ C grade in all subjects. Applicants will need to provide proof of age and a copy of their most report card.
