History
In 1971, Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company was formed with the citizens in the area as well as the Shawnee Ruritan Club.
The station is staffed by volunteers and career personnel 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week.
The station's apparatus includes:
- 3 ALS (Advanced Life Support) ambulances
- A Fire Engine
- A 105' Ladder Truck/ pumper
- A brush truck for woods/ grass fires
- Frederick County Fire and Rescue Department's "ALS-2"
