Voting Machine Instructions

Frederick County has moved to a paper ballot system.  Please follow the below steps at your polling location to ensure your vote is processed:

• Read over your ballot, and make your candidate selections.
• Mark your selection by completely filling in the oval next to the candidates' name. 
  • Do not mark with X's, ✓'s, or circle the candidates' name.
• When you finish marking your ballot, take and place it in the scanner. Ensure that your ballot is accepted and processed through the scanner before leaving the polling place.
• Write-Ins are NOT ALLOWED in Primary Elections.
