Erosion and Sediment Control
The department regulates all qualifying construction activity in accordance with state and local erosion and sediment control regulations. All land disturbing activity greater than 10,000 square feet requires an approved erosion and sediment control plan and a land disturbance permit issued by Public Works.
Stormwater Management
The department regulates all qualifying construction activity in accordance with state and local stormwater management regulations. All construction activity disturbing 1-acre or more requires an approved stormwater management plan and a stormwater permit issued by Public Works.
Commercial Land Disturbance
Commercial land disturbance includes all commercial/industrial site plans as well as all residential subdivisions. For commercial/industrial land disturbance permits, submit the completed application form along with two complete sets of plans, the appropriate checklists and the erosion and sediment control measures guarantee estimate form. Note that payment will not be accepted at the time of submittal for subdivision and commercial/industrial land disturbance permits. You will be advised of the permit fee when you are notified that the permit is ready to be issued.
Residential Land Disturbance
Residential land disturbance involves the construction of an individual single-family dwelling. For residential land disturbance permitting, payment must be submitted with a completed Agreement In Lieu Of and Erosion and Sediment Control Plan form and a site grading plan, if applicable.
Due to copy costs, the department does not provide copies of state erosion and sediment control regulations or the local ordinance. Please download documents and complete. Most forms are fillable. (An updated version of Adobe Reader may be required.)
