Year-to-Date Recycling Totals

In 2022, Frederick County recycled 5,468,017 pounds of materials. The county is continuing to recover record amounts of cardboard due to increased on-line shopping. Your efforts make a difference - 2,734 tons of difference! The county's 2021 recycling rate as reported to the state was 49 percent, far exceeding the mandated goal of 25 percent. The figure includes recycling efforts by residents, special programs such as electronics and brush recycling and recycling efforts by local businesses.
