The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is responsible for investigating all major crimes that occur in Frederick County. Investigators in the Division may specialize in certain fields of investigation, i.e., property crimes, crimes against persons, etc. Investigators from this division also participate in regional task forces. These task forces include the Regional Drug Task Force, the Regional Gang Task Force, the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
