Office of the Fire Marshal
The Fire Marshal's Office (FMO) is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of residents, businesses, visitors and first-responders from the devasting consequences of fires, explosions and hazardous materials throughout Frederick County.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is responsible for enforcing the Frederick Fire Prevention Code as well as applicable sections within the Frederick County Code. The combined efforts of code enforcement, reviewing fire protection system plans, investigating origin and cause of fires and explosions and educating the public about fire prevention and safety helps to prevent emergency incidents, reduce firefighter injury, and increase the quality of life in Frederick County.
